"Migration is a lens through which we understand the social boundaries, inequalities, and opportunities that shape our societies."

I am Professor Svetlana Chachashvili-Bolotin, a sociologist, migration scholar, and mixed-methods researcher. My research focuses on how migration reshapes the lives of migrants and non-migrants, revealing its impact on individuals, communities, institutions, and societies. My research has been supported by prestigious competitive grants from leading research foundations in Israel and internationally, including the Israel Science Foundation (ISF), the United States–Israel Binational Science Foundation (BSF), and the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF), as well as research grants from Israeli government ministries. As a Head of the Institute for Immigration and Social Integration (IISI) at Ruppin Academic Center, Israel, I lead interdisciplinary research that combines academic excellence with public impact.
